I ain't dead (I just been busy!)

Hey NG it's been a while!

I've not been as active as I usually am these past couple months and it figured I'd make a post talking about why/what I've been up to these past couple months!

Firstly, the less interesting bits. Big part of why I've been less active is we've had to move and all the home buying stuff and moving took a lot of my time and enrgy. On top of that work was also keeping me very busy the last month or so... also Zelda and StreetFighter6 lately are partially to blame haha.

Now for the more interesting stuff. I've never been one to do a lot of commission work. But I got a couple of real fun opportunities lately that I couldn't pass up and I can finally talk about most of them.

First up, got to design a T-Shirt for my favorite Acadian musician, P'tit Belliveau.

Was a real fun project that checked a bunch of boxes for me. Pixel art, for one of my favorite artist and being Acadian it's also culturally relevant to me so that was a blast to get to do this. The reason for the Wizard design is that he actually frequently wears a robe and wizard had on stage, it's true!

Side note, not sure I mentioned it here but earlier this year I also turned my t-shirt design into a hoodie. That was a cool experience. We did a bit of a pre-orded and printed some extras alongside that. It was a fairly small batch but last I heard we managed to sell all of them!

I also got to design the poster for a local festival which was super cool. I think posters will be going up for this around town later this summer and I'm really looking forward to see art I made plastered all over town!

And I also did some pixel art for some trippy art exhibit in Montreal called Sweet Folie. Not sure I can post the individual elements yet but if you're around Montreal anytime between now and October you can go check it out. If you see any pixelated animals riding on various vehicles that was me!

And lastly I also did some pixel art for a TV show pitch. Sadly I can't talk much about it since as far as I know it hasn't been picked up. Maybe some time in the future I'll be able to post what I did on here....

OH! And I forget, I also did a bunch of art for a project I put on hold. Without revealing too much it involved creating mockups of game ideas I had when I was a kid. I would up posting a few of these here but there's quite a few I've not posted yet. Might post these at some point if I don't wind up picking the project back up.

(Here's one of the pieces I did for that project that I posted on NG previously!)

Anyways, these are the various reasons why I've not posted here in a while. I'm hoping to get back into a more regular routine of working on art soon. But after all the craziness of the last 3-4 months it's been kinda nice to get to enjoy some time playing videogames, enjoying the warmer weather and traveling a bit so, don't expect frequent posts from me again just yet. But I do plan on getting back into doing some personal art again soon.

Til next time!

At least you made some sweet commission money that will hopefully allow you to get more ambitious with your next big project! I kind of just want to spend the summer playing Zelda, too, but the difference is that I'm a bit burned out from basically making massive 3D animation and art projects for free. Congrats on all the (paid) work prior to this well-deserved hiatus!
